The StubHub Mafia
StubHub turned ticket scalping into a legitimate marketplace.
Founded in 2000 by Jeff Fluhr and Eric Baker, two Stanford business school students, the platform recognized that fans desperately needed a safe way to buy and sell event tickets outside traditional channels. While secondary ticket sales had long existed in shadowy street corners and classified ads, StubHub brought transparency and security to the process.
The company pioneered the modern ticket resale industry, proving that peer-to-peer exchanges could work at scale. Today, StubHub processes millions of transactions annually, fundamentally reshaping how people access live entertainment experiences worldwide.
StubHub’s culture has long been defined by experimentation, data-driven decision-making, and a passion for connecting people through shared experiences. That spirit inspired a generation of builders who went on to create ventures in technology, sustainability, and customer engagement around the world.

The StubHub Mafia has founded 47 companies and raised $2.7B.
